A New Chapter for Café Cardewlees
Although we have offered food for some time, this year we have taken it to a whole new level.
Café Cardewlees is now separate from the campsite, allowing us to welcome not only campers but also local residents, walkers, cyclists and visitors passing through the area. You don’t need to be staying at the campsite to call in and enjoy what the café has to offer.
We have also opened a licensed bar, creating even more opportunities for people to relax, socialise and spend time together.
Our vision for Café Cardewlees goes beyond serving food and drinks. We hope it will become a welcoming community space where people can catch up with friends, meet someone new and enjoy a well-earned break.
Connection is incredibly important to us, and we hope Café Cardewlees offers exactly that.
A Welcoming Stop for Walkers and Cyclists
With so many beautiful walks and cycling adventures to enjoy across Carlisle and Cumbria, we hope to welcome even more walkers and cyclists during the 2027 season.

Live Music at Cardewlees
Live music has a wonderful way of bringing people together, and we’re delighted to welcome live singers and bands to Cardewlees.
Music can transform an ordinary evening into something memorable. It gives people a reason to gather, talk, laugh and enjoy a shared experience. This is exactly the type of warm and sociable atmosphere we want to create.
We are also passionate about supporting young and emerging talent. It can be difficult for new performers to find welcoming places where they can build their confidence and gain experience in front of an audience.
We hope Cardewlees can offer a friendly and encouraging platform where talented young singers and musicians can perform, develop their skills and feel supported by the local community.
Gennie, Mikey and Frazer have all performed for us this season and we are excited to welcome Frazer back the Friday.
Live Bands, Silent Discos and Movie Nights in 2027
We have lots of exciting ideas planned for the 2027 camping season.
Some fairly decent live bands, a silent disco and movie nights are just a few of the things we have in store. We’re looking forward to creating a varied programme with something for campers, visitors and members of the local community to enjoy.
Our events will provide even more opportunities for people to get together, experience live entertainment and make lasting memories at Cardewlees.
